Harry Potter and The Cursed Child Details

Harry Potter is a series of popular fiction novels written by British author J. K. Rowling. The series includes seven books released over a decade from 1997 to 2007. From movies to studio tours and "The Wizarding World of Harry Potter" themed area at the Universal Orlando Resort, Harry Potter has amassed a following unlike any other book series in recent history. Now, since the last book was released over 10 years ago, Harry Potter is coming to Broadway with a brand-new eighth story!

In this Broadway show, Harry Potter is now an adult, struggling as an overworked employee of the Ministry of Magic. Not only that, but he is also a husband and a father of three school-age children. The story follows Harry as he tries to make peace with his storied past and as his youngest son Albus struggles with the weight of his family's legacy. While Harry Potter is still the main star, the show focuses a lot on his son Albus as he embarks on his first year at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry.

The show, Harry Potter and the Cursed Child, had its world premiere in June 2016 at the Palace Theatre in London, where the shows repeatedly sold-out. It opens on Broadway in New York City on March 16, 2018.

According to the show's official website, the play has won over twenty major theatre awards in the UK. In fact, it is the most-awarded production in the history of Britain's prestigious Olivier Awards. Winning a record-breaking nine awards, including Best New Play and Best Director, this show is one to be remembered. This two-part stage play was written by Jack Thorne and is based on an original new story by Thorne, J. K. Rowling, and John Tiffany.

Whether you're a Hufflepuff, Gryffindor, Ravenclaw, or Slytherin, Harry Potter and the Cursed Child is a magical story for all fans of Harry Potter to enjoy.
