Indianapolis Colts Details
In today’s NFL, there’s a heavy overlap between the list of teams that have a franchise quarterback and the list of teams competing for a Super Bowl. For that reason, there’s plenty of hope going forward for the Colts organization and their star signal-caller, Andrew Luck. Widely considered one of the most surefire prospects in football history, Luck was selected first overall by the Colts in the 2012 NFL Draft. As one of the league’s most physically intimidating QBs at 6’4”, 240 pounds, Luck hasn’t disappointed in his young career, leading Indy to several playoff appearances and earning a series of Pro Bowl selections in the process. In the third round of that same 2012 draft, the Colts selected receiver T.Y. Hilton, and him and Luck have been partners in crime ever since. Hilton has improved in each of his year’s in the NFL, culminating in a league-best 1,448 receiving yards in the 2016 season.
Since joining the National Football League in 1960 as the Baltimore Colts, the organization has consistently been one of the league’s most successful. The franchise moved to Indianapolis in 1983, and won its first ever Super Bowl in the 2006-2007 campaign. The very next season, Indianapolis began playing its home games at the state-of-the-art Lucas Oil Stadium, one of eight domed NFL stadiums. Having been home to guys like Eric Dickerson, Marshall Faulk, Peyton Manning and Marvin Harrison—and now Luck and Hilton—the Colts have made a habit of featuring some of the game’s most exciting offensive players.
