Sports Analyst Intern
SeatGeek’s mission is to enable fans across the world to experience more live. As a Sports Analyst Intern, you will use SeatGeek’s ticket dataset to create interesting stories that can be shared on SeatGeek platforms as well as with members of the media.

As someone with a passion for sports writing, you will use tools like Excel, SQL and Looker (don’t worry, we will teach you) to sharpen your data analysis skills, and then use your findings to create interesting narratives that can be shared across the internet and on TV. A typical day may see you digging into why ticket prices jumped for a marquee football game, or seeing how many visiting fans will be invading the rivals stadium next weekend. You will have the opportunity to build authentic relationships with members of the media, and to better understand how brands can better serve their customers with content. We're looking for someone who is able to start immediately and intern with us into 2020.

What You'll Do

  • Use data analytics to identify trends around ticket buying
  • Create content for various SeatGeek platforms that leverages data insights
  • Work with members of the media to share storylines with the broader public
  • Write up articles that are featured on SeatGeek’s in-house blog, or in other external publications
  • Help develop and execute large content plans
  • Brainstorm additional ways that SeatGeek can share data trends

What You Have

  • Completed or expected Bachelor’s degree in 2020, preferably in Journalism or Marketing
  • Prior writing experience, either through an internship or other role
  • Strong writing and editing skills
  • Interest in working with data, and a basic understanding of ways data can be used to tell a story and be visualized
  • Passion for live events: sports, music, comedy, and theater
  • Bonus points for having previously worked with the media or as a reporter

  • A laid-back, fun workplace designed to facilitate collaboration and company wide events
  • $120/mo to spend on live events tickets
  • A focus on transparency. We have regular team lunches and Q&A panels where employees can chat openly with teams across SeatGeek, our co-founders, and external guests from the industry
  • Annual subscriptions to Citibike, Spotify, and meditation services
