If you’ve ever attended a Karaoke night, you’ve sung along to one of the melodic rock songs from the legendary band Journey. Cultivated in San Francisco during the 1970s, Journey began their musical career by playing local shows and releasing self-produced albums. Their early sound combined jazz fusion with progressive rock and later developed a more commercial sound with frontman lyricism. Journey got their mainstream break with the release of their fourth album, Infinity, which resulted in their first headlining tour. In 1980, Journey released their most popular album, Escape. The album charted at No. 1 in the US and came packed with a string of hit singles, including ‘Who’s Crying Now,’ ‘Still They Ride,’ ‘Open Arms’ and the iconic ‘Don’t Stop Believin.’ Journey went on to tour the world and develop a cult-like following known as “Journey Force.” They have since released multiple hit albums and sold millions of records, making them one of the world's best-selling bands. Journey’s music is considered timeless and a staple in the rock community.
