Kid Rock Details
Ever since his 1990 debut album, “Grits Sandwiches for Breakfast”, it has been clear to the music industry that Kid Rock was an artist that would never fit neatly into one genre’s box. Expertly blending elements of Hip-hop, Country, Rap, and Heavy Metal, Kid Rock created a sound that is completely unique. His fans run the gamut from die-hard Country music fans to Heavy Metal and Alternative Rock fans, proving that his supporters are just as unique as he is.
Singer, songwriter, rapper, self-taught instrumentalist, and record producer, Kid Rock didn’t rest on the success of his first albums. With every hit, Kid Rock grew as an artist, shaping himself and his sound until he found his niche in the music industry. At the end of 2002, his 4th single “Picture”, introducing Kid Rock to Country music fans and signaling a shift in his music from his Rap and Heavy Metal beginnings. “Picture” was a huge success and was nominated for Vocal Event of The Year at the 2003 Country Music Association awards.
Kid Rock has won several awards, including the World Music Award for World’s Best-Selling Pop Male Artist in 2008. In 2001 he won the American Music Award for Favorite Male Pop/Rock Artist. His song “All Summer Long” won awards as well, including the People’s Choice Award for Favorite Rock Song and the Echo Award for Song of the Year, both in 2009. 2009 proved to be a good year for Kid Rock when he finally received his star on the Music City Walk of Fame.
Kid Rock Concert Setlist
Kid Rock has quite a few huge hits, but there are standouts among the crowd that fans will be sure to hear at his concerts. The genre hopping summer anthem, “All Summer Long”, makes the setlist, as does one of his biggest hits, “Cowboy”. A fun mix of Hip-hop, Country, and Hard Rock, “Cowboy” is a song that gets people on their feet, dancing in the stands and singing along. Fan-favorite, “Picture”, is still immensely popular a decade after its release, and one of Kid Rock’s best-loved songs. “Collide” is an unlikely hit for the Heavy Metal rocker, with the perfect mix of soft soul and rough edges that fans can’t help but fall in love with. Fans can expect to hear both “Collide” and “Picture” with a video hologram of Sheryl Crow, or a special guest star standing in for her. And no setlist would be complete without the profound and lyric heavy “Only God Knows Why”, which showed fans a side of Kid Rock much different and more evolved than his earliest days.
