Established in the NBA in 1968, the Milwaukee Bucks have been a mainstay in the NBA scene in the Midwest. With some of the best scorers and all-around players in the league history suiting up for the Bucks, the team has had plenty of success throughout team history.

The bulk of the success for the Bucks came in the 1970s and the 1980s. The team won 12 division titles during those two decades, and reigned in their first championship during that time period in 1971. During part of that time period, the Bucks were led by one of the best NBA players to ever compete in the league. That player, of course, was Kareem Abdul-Jabbar.

Kareem ended his career as the top scorer in the history of the NBA, with his sky hook serving as his signature offensive maneuver. But Abdul-Jabbar was so much more than a hook shot. And the addition of Oscar Robertson perfectly paired with the abilities of Kareem to make the Bucks a true force in the NBA. In the first year with the two on the same squad, the team won the NBA championship, winning 12 of their 14 postseason games in the process.

Other Bucks legends include Michael Redd, Ray Allen, Sam Cassell, and Giannis Antetokounmpo, all of whom have been effective during their respective periods as leaders of the team.

When it comes to rivalries, the geographic proximity to the Chicago Bulls makes them a natural candidate to be the biggest rival of the Bucks. This is reinforced by the fact that both teams have taken turns being a force to be reckoned with in the Eastern Conference during different points in league history. And with Midwestern supremacy on the line, the two teams are sure to have a little extra something on the line when they meet.
