New York Knicks Playoff Tickets

The New York Knicks have one of the proudest NBA playoff histories, thanks to a championship pedigree along with some truly memorable playoff rivalries. With many legends of the game suiting up in the orange and blue, and with their games being played in one of the best basketball cities on the planet, there aren’t many things quite like Knicks playoff basketball.

Knicks fans have been able to celebrate multiple championships, with the team winning two titles in the early 1970s. They beat the Los Angeles Lakers to win both of those titles, one of which featured one of the NBA’s truly iconic moments as Willis Reed hobbled onto the floor to help the Knicks beat the Lakers in game seven of the 1970 NBA Finals.

Of course, the Knicks of the 1990s were also a huge piece of NBA playoff history, thanks to their hard-nosed identity and the rivalries that stemmed from it. Their playoff series against the Miami Heat, Chicago Bulls, and Indiana Pacers often felt like wars, as the winners of those series had to grind out every last possession to come out victorious.

One of the most memorable occasions where the Knicks came out victorious during that era was when they reached the NBA Finals by defeating the Indiana Pacers in the Eastern Conference Finals in 1999. That series will forever be remembered for Larry Johnson’s four-point play in game three, where he drew contact as he rose up for a deep three, hit the shot, and sent Madison Square Garden into pandemonium. Johnson hit the ensuing free throw, and helped the Knicks advance to the NBA Finals.

Between Johnson, Patrick Ewing, Charles Oakley, Allan Houston, and the rest of those Knicks teams, you knew a few things. First, opposing teams weren’t going to get many easy baskets at the rim. And second, most games were going to be contested within a margin of a possession or two. They were the kind of team that were a perfect representative for New York City, where everything was centered around hard work and a dogged determination.
