Rock on the Range Details
When Rock on the Range began in May of 2007, it was only a one-day event with about 35,000 people in attendance. Despite its infancy, with artists like ZZ Top, Velvet Revolver and Evanescence headlining, the fest solidified itself as a major rock n’ roll event and has grown in size every year since. Hosted at the MAPFRE Stadium in Columbus, OH, the annual gathering is now a three-day affair with over 120,000 attendees, four stages (including the Monster Energy main stage) and even a lineup of comedy performers. In 2009, organizers tried to create a second Rock on the Range in Winnipeg, Manitoba, but it was discontinued after its third year. Slated for May 19-21, the 2017 Rock on the Range may have the most impressive lineup yet, with Metallica leading the troupe of headliners. Also on tap is Soundgarden, Korn, Primus and Taking Back Sunday.
