Rod Stewart Details
Rod Stewart, known for his raspy voice, was born and raised in London. Famous for her quirky style and hit 80s anthem, “Girls Just Wanna Have Fun”, Cyndi Lauper was born in Astoria, NY and is a Grammy award-winning artist. Both artists created extremely successful solo careers for themselves, collaborating with other famed musicians along the way. Cyndi and Rod performed together for the first time back in 1985 during a benefit organized by the AIDS Project Los Angeles. They performed songs including, "People Get Ready," "I Heard It Through the Grapevine" and "Time After Time".
Many years later, in 2017, the two powerhouses teamed up once again for a summer tour. The tour was so successful and full of energy that the pair decided to do it again in 2018. The 22-date North American tour appeals to both Cyndi and Rod’s fanbase. The two artists are both known for their love of rock and their abilities to ‘wow’ their audiences.
Both Rod and Cyndi have been nominated for 14 Grammy awards each. Rod has taken home the Grammy for Best Traditional Pop Vocal Album, while Cyndi won Best New Artist in 1985 and Best Musical Theater Album in 2014 for “Kinky Boots”. Rod and Cyndi are both household names who are incredible apart, but even more stellar together.
