After co-founding the monumental band, Pink Floyd, in 1965, singer, songwriter, bassist, composer, and social activist Roger Waters began his solo career in 1984. His solo debut, “The Pros and Cons of Hitch Hiking”, reached 31 on the US Billboard 200. The album made the top 5 in Norway and Sweden that same year, effectively launching his solo career and helping him step out of Pink Floyd’s shadow and into the spotlight.
Roger Waters has released 5 solo albums total, but it’s his 5th album, after 12 years of touring and writing, that has people excited about this musical genius once again. The 2017 album, “Is This the Life We Really Want?”, has produced 4 hit singles: “Smell the Roses”, “Déjà vu”, “The Last Refugee”, and the fan-favorite, “Wait for Her”, which is based on the work of Palestinian poet Mahmoud Darwish.
