Roger Waters Details

Roger Waters

After co-founding the monumental band, Pink Floyd, in 1965, singer, songwriter, bassist, composer, and social activist Roger Waters began his solo career in 1984. His solo debut, “The Pros and Cons of Hitch Hiking”, reached 31 on the US Billboard 200. The album made the top 5 in Norway and Sweden that same year, effectively launching his solo career and helping him step out of Pink Floyd’s shadow and into the spotlight.

Roger Waters has released 5 solo albums total, but it’s his 5th album, after 12 years of touring and writing, that has people excited about this musical genius once again. The 2017 album, “Is This the Life We Really Want?”, has produced 4 hit singles: “Smell the Roses”, “Déjà vu”, “The Last Refugee”, and the fan-favorite, “Wait for Her”, which is based on the work of Palestinian poet Mahmoud Darwish. Critics and fans alike have fallen in love with his 2017 release, and have flocked to his concerts, selling out venues around the world.

When he was a member of Pink Floyd, Roger Waters won numerous awards, including a Juno Award for International Album of the Year in 1981. As a solo artist, his 2017 album was nominated for a Grammy Award. Roger Waters has also won the BAFTA for Best Original Song Written for a Film for the song ,“Another Brick in the Wall”, and in 2011, he won the Porin Special Merit Award for Achievement.

Roger Waters Concert Setlist

Roger Waters performs an eclectic mix of both his solo hits and the Pink Floyd songs he helped make hits before he started his solo career. Fans can expect Roger Waters to bring out fan favorite, “Another Brick in the Wall”, complete with youth dancers brought on stage for this extended play version of one of the most recognizable rock songs of all time. “Three Wishes” shows off Roger Waters’ gift for telling an intricate story within the confines of a song, and fans can expect to hear this lyrical masterpiece on the concert setlist. The deeply moving and powerful “The Last Refugee” makes the setlist as well, as does the sensational “Déjà vu”. Roger’s musical take on Mahmoud Darwish’s poem, “Wait For Her”, is the perfect addition to his concert setlist and is sure to touch fans even more deeply live than it did when the single was released in 2017.
