Seattle Seahawks Details
With a roster full of outspoken, big-name players, the Seattle Seahawks regularly generate more headlines than any other team in the NFL. That would probably happen even if Seahawks players weren’t so quotable, though, as few teams have more talent or greater championship pedigree. Quarterback Russell Wilson made a name for himself in his very first training camp, earning the starting job as a rookie and leading the team to its first ever Super Bowl victory a year later in the 2013 season. For the most part, the rest of the team’s stars reside on the defensive side of the ball. Michael Bennett has worked his way up from going undrafted to being one of the league’s most well-rounded defensive ends. Linebacker Bobby Wagner led the NFL with a staggering 167 tackles in 2016. And then there’s the secondary: The group known as the Legion of Boom in recent seasons has largely parted ways, but cornerback Richard Sherman and safety Earl Thomas remain in town and will go down as two of the best players ever at their respective positions.
Founded in 1976, the Seattle Seahawks have played their home games at CenturyLink Field since 2002. Famous for its deafening noise, the crowd at CenturyLink once created a roar that registered as a minor earthquake. Part of that is sound design in the stadium, but equally as important at The Clink are the raucous fans. Known as the 12th Man, the Seahawks’ supporters at home games come together to form one of the most famous sports crowds in the world.
