Edmonton’s largest indoor arena is Rogers Place, best known as the home of the NHL’s Edmonton Oilers. Rogers Place opened in 2016 and replaced Northlands Coliseum as the city’s major indoor entertainment venue. Having a new, state-of-the-art arena in town has helped bring some of the biggest tours to Edmonton. Keith Urban played the first concert at Rogers Place in September of 2016. Carrie Underwood, Kanye West, Bob Dylan, Bruno Mars, and Lady Gaga are just a few of the big names that have played at Rogers Place. The arena’s maximum capacity for concerts is nearly 21,000.

Edmonton Concert Venues

Union Hall is a club-style venue with drinks, music, and dancing located near the Rosedale Industrial area, at the intersection of 63 Ave NW and 99 St NW. Starlite Room offers a similar experience. Some events there are for members only, while others are open to the public. It is located in Downtown Edmonton.

Northern Alberta Jubilee Auditorium is on the campus of the University of Alberta. From Downtown, you’ll need take a bridge over the North Saskatchewan River to get there.

Rogers Place, which hosts most of the major tours that come through town, is in Downtown Edmonton near the Grand Villa Casino and the Royal Alberta museum.

Edmonton Music Festivals

For the Folk Fest, the park becomes a natural amphitheater, and concertgoers are treated to an excellent view of the Edmonton skyline in the backdrop of the stage.

Interstellar Rodeo Music Festival is held at Heritage Amphitheatre in Hawrelak Park. The festival begins in the last weekend of July, takes place over three days, and has been put on every year since 2012. Heritage Amphitheatre is also the venue for other Edmonton music festivals, including the “Keeping the Blues Alive” award-winning Edmonton Blues Festival. The Edmonton Symphony hosts its Symphony Under the Sky Festival at Heritage Amphitheatre as well.

Rogers Place Transit

Rogers Place’s downtown location makes it easily accessible through public transportation. You can take the Capital Line on the light rail (LRT) to Enterprise Square station and walk a couple of blocks to the arena. Extra trains operate during major events. You can also take a bus to Rogers Place: more than 40 bus routes operate within walking distance to the arena on weekdays, and more than 10 routes operate on nights and weekends.
