The untold story of one of the most important R&B acts in music history has now found its way to Broadway in the form of Ain’t Too Proud: The Life And Times Of The Temptations. Directed by two-time Tony Award winner Des McAnuff (who previously helmed the musical hit Jersey Boys), Ain’t Too Proud is the story of the rise and fall of Motown Royalty. The Temptations were a group of childhood friends and acquaintances who came together to create memorable American classics– and were driven apart by betrayal and tragedy. Ain’t Too Proud celebrates the highs and explores the lows of the Temptations. The show’s music and choreography are all taken from original songs and iconic dance moves of the Temptations. You’ll hear classic singles like “My Girl,” “Just My Imagination” and “Papa Was a Rolling Stone,” among many other well-known hits.

Derrik Baskins, James Harkness, Jawan M. Jackson, Jeremy Pope and Ephraim M. Sykes come together to bring the original Temptations to life, although as fans know there were other men who eventually came to be part of the group. The show features a book written by Dominque Morisseau.
