It’s the title to a popular late 80s dark comedy and a name everyone knows you shouldn’t say three times unless you’re looking for mayhem. Well, there’s set to be plenty of mayhem and music as two-time Tony Award nominee Alex Timbers brings Beetlejuice to the Winter Garden Theatre in April 2019.

The production stars Alex Brightman as the mischievous Beetlejuice and Sophia Anne Caruso plays the adorably morbid teenager Lydia Deetz. Joining the pair are Kerry Butler and Rob McClure as married ghosts Adam and Barbara Maitland.

Beetlejuice is a new spin on the Tim Burton classic about a girl named Lydia who’s fixated on “the whole being dead thing” and is thrilled to find out her house is haunted. What starts out as a plan to terrify her insufferable parents goes awry when the double-crossing Beetlejuice takes things to the extreme. What follows is absolute pandemonium, with a side of botched exorcism and one terrified girl scout.

The show features music and lyrics by Eddie Perfect. Scott Brown and Emmy Award nominee Anthony King of Broad City fame teamed up to write the book for Beetlejuice, and Connor Gallagher provided the musical’s choreography.
