In 2017, Cirque du Soleil premiered one of their most unique shows in the 30-plus year history of the company: Crystal. 

Crystal is the first ever Cirque performance that takes place completely on ice. It offers fans an unprecedented performance that combines circus acts with breathtaking acrobatics and ice skating.

The story revolves around the main character, named Crystal, who dives into her own imaginary world on a journey to discover herself.

Given the fact that the show takes place on ice, audience members should expect to see plenty of high-level synchronized skating and extreme skating. There are also traditional circus acts featured in the show, including trapeze, hand-to-hand and aerial strap artists.

When Do the ‘CRYSTAL’ Performances Run?

Since debuting back in late 2017, Crystal has been performed on a regular basis across North America. Their North American tour is currently set to run through October 13. The show will then continue with tour dates in Russia, Latvia, Belarus and the Ukraine, spanning November 2019 through February 2020. 

What is the Runtime for Cirque du Soleil: CRYSTAL?

The show’s runtime is approximately two-and-a-half hours. This runtime includes a 20-minute intermission in the middle of the performance.
