Dave Chappelle Chris Rock Tour

We couldn’t agree more, Chris Rock: “After seeing Kanye and Jay-Z, I was like, ‘Me and Dave should do this,’” the comedian recently told Vulture of his desire to embark on a Watch The Throne-like tour with fellow shock (spot-on) comedian Dave Chappelle. Turns out Chappelle feels the same, engaging Rock in a playful exchange about potential tour dates during the duo’s gig at the Comedy Cellar in NYC on February 26. By the end of the set, many fans – and the majority of the blogosphere – were left wondering: Were they serious…?

Check out the following transcript of who said what, and judge for yourself:

Chappelle: “Come out to Oakland.”

Rock: “You should come down to West Palm.”

Chappelle: “After next Tuesday, I’m free for like 11 years.”

(After discussing an upcoming film he’s set to cut this summer, Rock answered:)

“I’ve got time between now and the movie… By Halloween, I could do dates.”

Sounds pretty legitimate to us. The pair performed together again the following night, this time bringing Professor Questlove along for the ride. All in all, it’s looking as if the tour-dates question isn’t a matter of “will they?” but rather, “when?” We’ll be sure to have all the updates once Rock & Chappelle release them (probably closer to the fall), so be sure to check back here when tickets for the collaborative comedy concert series of the century – or at least 2013 – go on sale!
