UPDATE

Katie Holmes probably didn’t imagine that her run on Broadway in Dead Accounts would be ending so soon. Originally planned to run for 16 weeks after officially opening on November 29, the play will come to an early close within one week after the start of 2013.

Producers said that the show will close on January 6 after 27 previews and 44 performances. As for the reason for the sudden closing, apparently the show was not bringing in the crowds in a rather crowded Broadway field. According to the New York Times, Dead Accounts reportedly only made just under 25% of its potential box office and had the lowest attendance of any show on Broadway, with only 38.1% of its seats filled last week.
