With the end of the month quickly approaching, it’s amazing how fast the year goes by, isn’t it? Soon it’ll be Spring and we’re so excited for those upcoming events. For now, however, we have some pretty exciting activities you and your children can enjoy!

From a Houston Puzzle Hunt to Friday Family Movie night, here are some fun events for kids in Houston this week!

Houston Puzzle Hunt @ Memorial Park

Sunday, March 1 | 1PM

The Houston Puzzle Hunt is a brand new immersive event for kids and really anyone of any age! This event starts at a secret location in Memorial Park. You and your kids will race around to solve puzzles while also helping to raise a substantial amount of money for a local Houston no-kill animal rescue shelter that saves the cats and dogs all around the community. Nothing beats a fun event that also helps animals! Tickets are $35.

Once On This Island @ Hobby Center

Tuesday, February 25 | 7:30PM

Break up the mundane school week for your kids by taking them to see Once On This Island at the Hobby Center Tuesday night. This one act musical follows the story of Ti Moune, a peasant girl. With the help of the mighty island gods, Ti Moune embarks on a journey across the sea to find the man who once captured her heart. She is willing to risk everything for love. Was it worth it? Friday Family Movie Night @ Memorial City Mall

Friday, February 28 | 7PM

This Friday night, head on over to the Memorial City Mall with your kids and enjoy their Friday Family Movie Night. For this event, they will be playing Black Panther. Grab a blanket and enjoy this flick on the lawn at The Square with some complimentary popcorn. If you’re not into popcorn, you can head over to the Memorial City Mall and check out one of their great restaurants! You can even enjoy the movie from the patio of The Cheesecake Factory.

25th Annual Periwinkle Cycle @ Houstonia Hotel, Club & Spa

Saturday, February 29 | 8AM

The Periwinkle Cycle is an indoor bike-a-thon that brings friends and family together for a fun-filled morning that also benefits a great cause. Proceeds from this event go to the Periwinkle Foundation which provides healing programs and camps that positively changes the lives of young adults, children, and families affected by cancer. Some activities that also go on through the morning is a silent auction as well as some fun children’s activities and games.

Family Movie Night @ Levy Park

Friday, February 28 | 7PM

There’s really no easier way to entertain your kids than to just make them watch a movie. If you’re not into Black Panther at the Memorial City Mall, you can head over to Levy Park for their Family Movie Night. The movie playing this night will be Detective Pikachu. Admission to see this flick is free! Considering the prices of going to the movie theatres can be so high, this seems like a great way to watch a fun flick with your family.

The Musical Adventures of Flat Stanley @ Main Street Theatre Houston

Sunday, March 1 | 3:30PM

Stanley is just an ordinary boy… until his bulletin board falls off the wall and flattens him! With his new identity, Flat Stanley can now slide under doors, add a postage stamp and mail himself, and even capture thieves. Follow along The Musical Adventures of Flat Stanley this Sunday afternoon at the Main Street Theatre as he learns that heroes come in all shapes and sizes! Children under the age of three are not allowed in the theatre.

Kid’s Thursday- Walking Color @ Aldine Branch Library

Thursday, February 27 | 5PM

This Thursday evening, take your kids to the Aldine Branch Library for a chance to do some crafts while learning a little bit about science. This project combines art and science in a way that will keep even the most distracted kid entertained. Kids will learn about the properties of water and the changing of colors for this demonstration. No registration is required for this event!
