Lena Dunham is ‘Not That Kind of Girl’, Heads Out on Book Tour
GIRLS writer and creator and sometime lightning rod for controversy Lena Dunham has written a book, Not That Kind of Girl, out September 30 by Random House (and she got a $3.7 million dollar advance to do so). To promote her tome, she’s heading out on the road, signing autographs, having conversations, and generally just being her lovely self in many cities around the country. Dunham’s first stop will be at the Barnes & Noble Union Square in New York, NY on September 30. After her hometown of NYC, she’ll make stops in Boston, MA; Chicago, IL; Iowa City, IA; Austin, TX; Los Angeles, CA; Pasadena, CA; San Francisco, CA; Seattle, WA; Portland, OR; and Brooklyn, NY. Each stop on the tour will feature a guest (including Amy Schumer, Jenny Mollen, and more), so check out Dunham’s website for ticketing information and opening acts.
At only 28 years old, Lena Dunham has got plenty going for her. She’s an actress, screenwriter, producer, and director, starring in her 2010 film Tiny Furniture and her ongoing series, GIRLS. Dunham has received eight Emmy Award nominations and has won two Golden Globes for work—she’s also the first women to win an award for Outstanding Director in a Comedy Series from the Directors’ Guild.
