Lindsay Lohan to Make Stage Debut in London
Sure, she’s been in the press nonstop for her legal shenanigans and lack of punctuality, but this time, Lindsay Lohan is going back to where she started—acting. Lohan will make her stage debut in David Mamet’s Speed-the-Plow at the Playhouse Theatre in London this fall. Previews begin on September 24 with the official opening night coming on October 2. The play will run until November 29. Lohan will play the role of Karen, a secretary, comes between film producers Bobby Gould and Charlie Fox on their quest to create a box-office blockbuster. This revival will be directed by Lindsay Posner, who has some experience reviving Mamet on the West End. For information on ticketing and more, visit the play’s website.
Lohan has found fame in films like The Parent Trap and Mean Girls, but the stage is a completely new venture (Madonna also made her stage debut in this play). Speed-the-Plow was last revived in 2008 with Raul Esparza as Charlie Fox, Jeremy Piven as Bobby Gould (Norbert Leo Butz and William H. Macy took over the role after Piven got “mercury poisoning”), and Elisabeth Moss as Karen.
