SeatGeek Launches ‘Spotlight’: A Product for Bands, Brands & Fans

This Thursday, June 6, 2013, SeatGeek is launching its newest product named Spotlight: a platform in which burgeoning artists can showcase their talents, and innovative advertisers can showcase their brands.Through the use of our vast ticketing data, combined with social stats around artists, Spotlight is able to predict bands and musicians that are about to blow up (proverbially, of course).
Based on trends in the secondary ticket market, we’ve been able to identify the sweet spot in which acts like Mumford & Sons, The Lumineers, Foster the People and Macklemore & Ryan Lewis were teetering on the brink of greatness. Now a new class of indie and alt music is taking the lead, and SeatGeek is determined to help bring them from the underground into the – you guessed it – spotlight.
We’ll be using Spotlight as an engine to both give attention to emerging artists, and as a tool for advertisers to showcase their brands against our predictive data. Those that sponsor the product will get exposed to the data to and can learn about the next big acts on stage, as well as craft their strategy to have presence at events or festivals where Spotlight artists will be performing.
