Comedian Todd Barry Embarking on Last ‘Crowd Work’ Tour
The hilarious Todd Barry, known for his unique off-the-cuff style and smooth baritone voice, is in the midst of his “Final Crowd Work” tour. Having just finished cracking up fans in the South, Barry will next be making them laugh in the Midwest with his most imminent show in Minneapolis on April 16, and eventually hitting Chicago on April 18. After that, it’s a brief leg through Texas and then a few stops up the East Coast, including Washington D.C. and Cambridge, MA, before finishing up at the Bell House in Brooklyn.
Barry, who many may recognize as they guy from that thing due to his numerous bit parts in TV and movies, has been a mainstay of the New York comedy scene since the late nineties and has released five comedy albums. A comic’s comic, the aloof Barry has developed a reputation for his ability to create a routine of jokes on the fly by interacting with the audiences, known to stand-up comedy aficionados as “crowd work.” Barry’s most recent special Todd Barry: The Crowd Work Tour, was filmed during his 2013 tour of exclusive crowd work shows in seven West Coast cities and was produced by Louis CK. So come prepared for some interactive comedy.
