San Diego is known as America’s Finest City, but it’s also regarded as one of the best cities to see live music in. From waterside festivals to the nightlife of the city itself, San Diego brings it when it comes to their festival scene. Check out the top three music festivals happening in San Diego this year, along with where to score tickets to each one!

CRSSD Festival

If you want to experience a stellar live music event and see one of the beautiful waterfront views that San Diego has to offer, look no further than CRSSD Festival. It’s one of San Diego’s longest-running electronic music festivals, and began by featuring an array of artists from various sub-genres. In more recent years, CRSSD has expanded its lineup to rock and indie bands as well.

“Adding indie bands and rock ‘n’ roll to an electronic music festival is the direction we’re going, but we’re not going to do anything too commercial,” shared Johnny Shockey, founder and organizer of CRSSD Festival.

The genre expansion has since been well-received by fans, as the festival still stays true to its mission statement of bringing together “forward thinking electronic artists, combining live and DJ performances.” This year, RÜFÜS DU SOL, Chris Lake, 2manydjs, Charlotte De Witte, Soulwax, and more are just some of the acts that can be seen performing on stage this year. shop CRSSD Festival tickets

KABOO

KABOO stands as one of San Diego’s most popular and well-attended music festivals to date. KABOO hosts live music performances, stand-up comedy, and local food vendors, making for a memorable weekend in the city every year. KABOO trades San Diego’s laid back beach vibe for the urban nightlife scene that thrives in the city’s center. While the 2020 lineup is still yet to be announced, past performers include big names like Snoop Dogg, Mumford & Sons, Wu-Tang Clan, Dave Matthews Band, The Black Eyed Peas, and Duran Duran. This year, the festival will be held at Petco Park, and is set to take place from September 18-20. shop KABOO Del Mar tickets

BayFest

What’s better than seeing live music next to a scenic view of the San Diego bay area? BayFest provides festival goers with just that. Embarcadero Marina Park provides this popular San Diego festival with a scenic waterfront view. BayFest garners around 7,000+ people in attendance yearly, and its smaller scale is a big draw to attendees. With a heavy focus on reggae music, and taking place alongside the Bay, BayFest makes for a chill live music experience. Their VIP packages are pretty sweet, too. Included in the pass is priority entry, exclusive VIP-only pit access, and private shaded cabanas to enjoy all of the performances from. If you’re new to the festival scene, BayFest is a great introductory event to attend. This year, Stick Figure, Cut Chemist, The Movement, and more will be performing this summer. shop BayFest tickets
