Our nation’s capitol is home to a plethora of the country’s best music festivals. From hip hop to straight up rock and roll, DC’s festival scene has something for every music lover to enjoy. Check out our top three music festivals in the DC area that you can’t afford to miss this summer – and find out where to score tickets, too!

Broccoli City Festival

Hip-hop and rap fans alike are in for a real treat this summer. Broccoli City is one of the most popular festivals in the DC area, never failing to deliver a stacked lineup year after year. Held at RFK Stadium, one of DC’s largest concert venues, the one-day festival is packed with big names in the rap and hip-hop world.

McEachern and Marcus Allen, founders of Broccoli City, recently shared their enthusiasm for the 2020 edition of the DC-based Festival.

“As a black-owned, millennial-led festival, we take great pride in our ability to create safe and authentic spaces for the black community to gather and celebrate the beauty of our culture.” said Brandon McEachern and Marcus Allen, founders of Broccoli City Festival. “At a time like this, it’s imperative for us to protect these spaces and encourage one another to make their voices heard, which is why our return to Washington, D.C. is so important.”

DC Jam Fest

When a festival hosted by Dave Grohl and Foo Fighters, it’s a guarantee that it will be an unforgettable live music event. This year’s inaugural DC Jam Fest is the brainchild of Grohl and his bandmates. DC Jam Fest has been hyped up heavily by fans, and it has the killer lineup to match. Along with the Foos themselves, Chris Stapleton and Pharrell Williams are rounding out the bill of headliners. Band of Horses, The Go-Go’s, and The Regrettes are also included on the eclectic lineup. In addition to live performances, Grohl’s latest endeavor also promises a myriad of other happenings upon the festival grounds including an outdoor BBQ, amusement park rides, tailgate parties, and more.

This isn’t Grohl’s first rodeo putting on a sensational, star-studded music festival. The rock legend himself has also been responsible for great one-off festivals like CalJam Festival in San Bernadino and their 20th anniversary blowout at DC’s very own RFK Stadium in 2015. Grohl is loyal to his home state of Virginia, keeping his dazzling celebration shows within Old Dominion. With these successful events under his belt, there’s no doubt that this year’s DC Jam Fest will deliver anything less than stellar. shop DC Jam Fest tickets
