Glastonbury Reveals 2014 Lineup
A Glastonbury Festival is kind of like a blue moon—sometimes, you’ll wait years for one—but this year, it’s back in all its rocking glory. The lineup for the 2014 Glastonbury Festival was just announced, and it’s a doozy: Metallica, Arcade Fire, and Kasabian are set to headline. Also playing? Jack White, The Black Keys, Pixies, Massive Attack, London Grammar, Chance the Rapper, Angel Haze, Pretty Lights, The 1975, Lily Allen, Jonny Greenwood, Chromeo, MIA, Haim, Blondie, and many, many more. The festival will take place at Worthy Farm in Pilton, UK from June 25-29 in a notoriously muddy field (better bring those Wellies like Kate Moss). Tickets are unfortunately sold out from the box office, but sales are alive and well on the secondary market. Good luck!
Glastonbury isn’t just popular music—also performing at the five-day festival are comedy, dance, theatre, circus, and cabaret acts. Organized by Michael Eavis and held on his own land, about 175,000 people attend the festival annually—it’s now considered to be the biggest greenfield festival in the world. The first Glastonbury took place in 1971, and it’s been held intermittently since then. The last was held in 2013.
