Now in its third iteration, the Global Citizen Festival has just announced its one-day festival headliners. Since it takes place in New York (at the Great Lawn in Central Park), it’s no wonder that Jay-Z is taking the stage. Also on the docket? Sets by No Doubt, Tiesto, fun., The Roots, and Carrie Underwood. The show will be Saturday, September 27. The festival is organized by the Global Poverty Project—their aim is to bring attention to poverty both here in the United States and abroad.

So what’s it all about? This is being billed as a “free ticketed festival”, so while it won’t cost you any dough to get in, you still have to have a ticket in hand (and perform some philanthropy). It’s about people helping people, and to get a ticket, you, well, have to help people. Complete a variety of tasks on the festival’s website, and you can go to the show. You can “take action and earn points” (as the site says) in four categories: education, health, women’s equality, and global partner ships. Get enough points, and you can be entered into a lottery to see these killer performers (and more) for free. You can find out more about tickets at the festival’s website.
