MidPoint Music Festival Confirms 2014 Lineup
Now in its thirteenth iteration, Cincinnati’s MidPoint Music Festival has just confirmed this year’s lineup. Playing the three-day event? Cincinnati’s own The Afghan Whigs, along with Panda Bear, Real Estate, Tycho, St. Paul & the Broken Bones, Speedy Ortiz, The Tontons, Gardens & Villas, and many more. Venues have yet to be confirmed, but we can expect them to be in the city’s downtown, Over-the-Rhine historic district, and Washington Park, as they usually are. The festival will take place September 25 to 27, and advance tickets are now on sale, so get them while you can. “All-Music Access” tickets running you $69 (and $79 after September 1) and “VIP Experience” tickets costing $149 for early bird and $179 for advance.
MidPoint Music Festival (aka MPMF) started in 2002 by Cincinnati musicians Bill Donabedian and Sean Rhiney as one part independent music festival, one part industry conference. It’s expanded since it was acquired by Cincinnati’s CityBeat publication in 2008, with attendance doubling in recent years. Past acts include Andrew Bird, Grizzly Bear, Best Coast, Tom Tom Club, Phantogram, Kurt Vile, Kishi Bashi, Cut Copy, Okkervil River, The Walkmen, and Jessica Lea Mayfield.
