The Avett Brothers Added as Sloss Music & Arts Festival Headliners
The lineup for the first-ever Sloss Music & Arts Festival has been revealed. Featuring heavy-hitters on the indie music scene, headliners include Modest Mouse, Band of Horses, Primus, and St. Paul & the Broken Bones. As of May 12, The Avett Brothers have also been announced as the final headliner for the weekend. (Full list below.) Sloss Fest is billing itself as a lifestyle festival, as it is named after Col. James Wither Sloss who “not only promoted the development of Southern rail, but became one of the chief proponents of Alabama’s postwar industrial development.” Because of this, there will be live iron pouring demonstrations on-site, as well as a gallery of limited-edition hand screen printed posters, and a showcase of amazing local and regional food.
Tickets for the event are on sale now. Early bird and first tier passes have sold out, but level 3 pricing is available for just $135 + fees. VIP two-day passes are also on sale for $325 + fees, as well as “Iron” two-day passes, which is one step below VIP but still gives you access to on-site air conditioning and private bars. That’ll cost you $210 + fees. There is a payment plan option available, which breaks down the ticket cost into four easy payments.
