Stand Up for Heroes, put on by the Bob Woodruff Foundation and New York Comedy Festival, is coming back to New York’s The Theater at Madison Square Garden for its eighth year, and with it comes some pretty heavy-hitting names in the worlds of music and comedy. This year’s festival will feature performances by Bruce Springsteen, Louis C.K., John Mulaney, John Oliver, Brian Williams, and many other surprise guests. Why all these entertainers? Since its inception, Stand Up For Heroes has raised over $21 million to help post-9/11 injured service members, and the event “honors the sacrifice of returning members, veterans, and their families.” Tickets for the show are currently on sale, starting at $250 and going up to $5000 a ticket. For more information, visit the event’s website.

Bob Woodruff began his career in journalism in 1989, but he got his biggest break when he succeeded Peter Jennings as co-anchor of ABC News’ World News Tonight in 2005. He was critically wounded by a roadside bomb when reporting in Iraq in 2006, where he suffered multiple traumatic brain injuries was placed in a medically induced coma for 36 days. Woodruff returned to reporting in 2007 and began to highlight his new project—gaining awareness for returning veterans suffering from traumatic brain injuries.
