Taylor Swift has very few milestones she hasn’t reached. The chart-topper and record-setter is more than a decade into a nearly unprecedented career in pop and country. However, there are still ways for Swift to break new ground. She’ll become the first-ever woman to open an NFL stadium when she plays Los Angeles’ SoFi Stadium for her upcoming Lover Fest West.

Lover Fest West is the occidental iteration of a pair of back-to-back, day-long bashes featuring her as headliner supported by as-yet unannounced friends. Swift explained her rationale for turning her new album into a two-day open-air festival on Twitter.

“The Lover album is open fields, sunsets, + SUMMER. I want to perform it in a way that feels authentic,” she shared on Twitter. “I want to go to some places I haven’t been and play festivals. Where we didn’t have festivals, we made some.”

Lover Fest West Predictions

Swift will likely bring along members of her “squad” and other collaborators. Expect acts like Charli XCX or her friends in Haim to make appearances. She might be able to bring out acts that clearly inspired her, as she did with Alanis Morisette on the 1989 tour. Maybe the obvious influences on Lover (think Mazzy Star) can make an appearance. Lover co-conspirators like Dixie Chicks and St. Vincent might stop by also.
