Love Lust Faith and…Live Shows: Thirty Seconds to Mars Announces Fall US Tour
30 Seconds to Mars Tour
Move over Terry Richardson, Jared Leto is stepping out from behind the camera and onto the stage. That’s right, Thirty Seconds to Mars has announced a full U.S. tour in support of their new album, Love Lust Faith + Dreams. Following its release on May 17, 2013, the band’s fourth studio album peaked at number six on the Billboard 200 list and received somewhat mixed reviews. In an interview with Rolling Stone, Leto explained that the album was “a new chapter” of growth for the band and that he felt they “made the best album of our lives, hands down, because we’ve learned a lot about who we were.”

It’s always nice to see a band taking risks to explore new sounds both in the studio and live on stage. Coming from a guitar driven rock background, Thirty Seconds to Mars gets more experimental with brass sections on the album opener, “Birth,” moves on to some stadium filling chants with “Conquistador,” and even gets a little 80’s-tastic on “Do or Die.” The band’s music video for the album’s first single, “Up in the Air,” recently garnered three MTV Video Music Awards nominations and starting this September you can see them live when their tour kicks off in San Diego.
