50 Cent Releases ‘Animal Ambition’ with Webster Hall Gig
Prosperity is the theme of 50 Cent’s newest album due out today. Animal Ambition is the first album the Queens-born rapper has put out in five years (since 2009’s Before I Self Destruct) and marks his sixth studio release. Fans can purchase tickets to the official album release performance, scheduled for June 8 at Webster Hall in New York City. Early in March, the album’s first singles “Don’t Worry ‘Bout It” and “Hold On” were released along with their respective videos. While a few of the released singles have received mixed reviews, we’ll have to wait a see how well Animal Ambition follows in the footsteps of Fiddy’s others. The album will be his first release with Capitol and Caroline Records, after 12 years with his previous labels.
Since his last album, 50 Cent, whose real name is Curtis Jackson III, hasn’t had to worry about much. He continues to make a name for himself in an industry and genre with tough competition, releasing albums that have all continually garnered awards and rave reviews. Music, however, remains only a small part of the rapper’s success. Partnerships with Reebok, Right Guard, and Coca-Cola, as well as his own film production companies have guaranteed 50 Cent a top spot among hip-hop’s highest earners.
