Aaron Carter Announces U.S. Tour Dates
Aaron Carter would like to remind you all that he was once a platinum-selling pop star. The blonde-headed brother of a BSB has just announced where and when in the U.S. he’ll be performing this year. Carter, who’s currently in the midst of touring Canada, makes it this side of the border on July 18 at the Federal Underground in Long Beach, CA, followed by a show at the Canyon Club in Agoura Hills, CA, on July 19. After taking August and most of September off, Carter will hit the road again, starting off in California on September 25 and make his way up the coast to the Knitting Factory Concert House in Spokane, WA, on October 5 and then on to a series of shows throughout the Midwest, eventually playing Philadelphia’s District N9ne on October 31. After a few more shows in the Northeast, including paying Boston on November 2 and New York on November 7, Carter will run through Alabama, Oklahoma, Texas and Arizona. He’ll finish up at the El Rey Theatre in L.A. on December 13.
If you’re a 90s kids, then you’ll recall that before Justin Bieber, the title-holder of “former tween heartthrob singer/rapper turned hot mess” belonged to Aaron Carter. Rising through the ponzi-scheme (and alleged pedophilic) fueled pop-music monstrosity that was the Lou Pearlman boy band empire, Carter hit mainstream mega success when he was barely 13 with his second studio album, Aaron’s Party (Come Get It), which sold over 3 million copies. A string of much less successful albums followed, as well as Carter’s ill-fated teen romance with Hillary Duff, various celebrity reality show appearances, rehab, and, last fall, filing for bankruptcy.
