Aaron Carter Finds Second Wind With ‘After Party’ Tour

It’s becoming redundant to introduce our subjects with the title of “’90s star” (see recent revivalists The Backstreet Boys, Matchbox Twenty, Smashing Pumpkins, Tori Amos, Destiny’s Child), so instead, we’ll just give it to you straight: Reality star Aaron Carter is heading out on tour! The mastermind behind cult favorites and college pre-game staples “Aaron’s Party” and “That’s How I Beat Shaq” will relive the magic of his pre-pubescent heyday, to the delight of his fully post-pubescent fans, with a string of performances this February-March.

So far as we know, the nostalgia trip will not include an appearance by Lizzie McGuire and BFF Miranda, in which the Disney darlings dance behind Aaron in color-coordinated, late ’90s-appropriate attire (metallics) as he performs the show-stopping “I Want Candy.” Their absence will be unfortunate, if nonetheless expected, given Lizzie’s new adult role of mother to ten-month-old Luca Cruz. The child stars are all grown up, expanding their families and performance cred to equal success.
Aaron’s tour, with the best apropos title of his fellow Gen X born-agains, the After Party Tour, kicks off February 23 in Buffalo, NY. The US concert run officially winds down late March, although expect more dates to be revealed in the weeks ahead.
