UPDATE: Bonnaroo

Alt-J, who are set to embark on a U.S. tour in March, will be headed down to Manchester, Tennessee for Bonnaroo. The band will be on the bill with acts such as Paul McCartney, Tom Petty & The Heartbreakers, Mumford & Sons, Wu Tang Clan, R. Kelly, Wilco and many, many others.

Set to take place June 13 through June 16 in Manchester, Tennessee, the festival consistently is regarded as one of the best music festivals each year, receiving awards from publications like GQ and Rolling Stone Magazine.

UPDATE: Heineken Open’er Festival

Alt-J are building out there European festival plans in 2013 for sure. The band announced today that they will be on the bill for the Heineken Open’er Festival, set to take place at the Gdynia-Kosakowo Airfield in Gdynia, Poland from July 3 through July 6. They join a bill that also includes Rihanna, Blur, Queens of the Stone Age, Modest Mouse, Kings of Leon and Arctic Monkeys.

The band also revealed they will be playing all new material at the festival. Tickets are on sale via the festival site right here.

UPDATE: Reading & Leeds Festival

Alt-J, currently getting ready to kick off a North American tour on March 2, have been added to the impressive bill of the Reading and Leeds Festivals, set to take place August 23 through August 25 at Richfield Avenue in Reading and Bramham Park in Leeds.

Alt-J join a lineup that also includes Eminem, Biffy Clyro, Foals, System of a Down, Fall Out Boy, Jake Bugg and Bring Me The Horizon.

Indie-rock quartet Alt-J have announced a small string of tour dates that will take place this December. The announcement comes on the heels of sold-out, headlining performances throughout North America, plus the U.S. release of their debut album. It kicks off on December 11, at San Francisco’s Bottom of the Hill, with two more Cali dates in L.A. and San Diego the following days. After that it’s off to Portland for a show at Star Theater on December 15, followed by the tour finale in Seattle, WA, at The Crocodile on December 17. Wildcat! Wildcat! will act as support for all shows save for December 12 in Los Angeles.

Alt-J released their debut album, An Awesome Wave, in the UK and Australia on May 25, and in North America on September 18. While it didn’t chart in the US, it did peek at No. 19 in the United Kingdom. Makes sense, considering the boys hail from Leeds, where they met at university in 2007. The name Alt-J represents the keyboard command on a Mac that makes the symbol for the Greek word “Delta,” which is used in mathematical equations to show change.
