Half Way Done: Angel Olsen Announces More Tour Dates for 2013
Angel Olsen Tour
Following the glowing reception of her 2012 sophomore album, Half Way Home, Angel Olsen has announced more tour dates for 2013. If you’re unfamiliar with her work, this Chicago based singer/songwriter is immensely talented with a wide range of vocal abilities. She’s been heard screaming the words of Kevin Coyne and Dagmar Krause’s 1979 hit “Sweetheart,” floating effortlessly through a song like “Acrobat,” shakily crooning like Ryan Gosling on a ukelele a la Blue Valentine on songs like “The Waiting” and latest single from her ep, Sleepwalker, “Sweet Dreams,” all the while exploring emotions and considering what it means to exist. It’s one part folk, two parts indie rock, and a shot of old time-y goodness.
Starting this month at the Pitchfork Music Festival in Chicago on July 19 and continuing through to the middle of October, Angel will extend her tour in support of her 2012 album and newer recordings on her recently released 7″ vinyl, Sleepwalker. This includes stops in Portland, Pittsburgh, Philadelphia, Boston, and Washington, D.C. Along the way she’ll share the stage with various bands in different cities, including Implodes, William Tyler, Grouper and Nathan Bowles, and Pillars & Tongues.
