Animal Collective will take their psychedelic sound on tour this fall to support the September 4th release of their latest album, Centipede Hz . The first leg of their tour will make stops throughout the US, before continuing on to Europe, where they will play at the Pitchfork Music Festival in Paris.

Animal Collective’s members are all childhood friends from Baltimore, but they began truly playing music together in the early 2000s in New York City. Comprised of band members Panda Bear, Avey Tare, Deakin and Geologist, they put together both solo and group projects throughout the 2000s, culminating in their critically acclaimed 2009 release, Merriweather Post Pavilion. Their psych-pop records are noted for their spaced-out instrumentation, electronic dissonance, and experimental vocals. With the release of Centipede Hz, Animal Collective establishes their eminence as one of the world’s most popular indie bands but also one that is constantly pushing the envelope.
