Scour the internet for information on Ariel Pink’s Haunted Graffiti and you’re bound to come across stories as eccentric as the music itself. The band’s leader and singer/songwriter, Ariel Rosenburg, aka Ariel Pink, has been at it for some time, having recorded well over 500 songs to cassette tapes since an early age. It’s only fitting that his big break would come after bandmates from Animal Collective came across a CD-R of his music on the floor of their van.

Fast-forward to 2010 and following a move to studio production (a departure from the lo-fi recordings of their early years) and Pink’s album, Before Today, is making headlines with Pitchfork’s song of the year (2010) for “Round and Round”– a testament to his years of songwriting experience and the band’s musical talents. At the end of 2012, Ariel Pink and the Haunted Graffiti released their highly anticipated follow-up LP, Mature Themes, to solid reviews. In support of the new album, the band will kick off their U.S. tour at the end of March in California at The Observatory, with stops planned up and down both coasts and all across the middle states. They will even be showcasing their vibes and strangely poetic lyrics at this year’s Bonnaroo Music and Arts Festival in Tennessee.
