Hip-hop duo Atmosphere have just announced additional dates to their already in-progress summer tour, which is in support of their recently released album Southsiders. The guys are playing through Michigan, Ohio and Wisconsin throughout the rest of June and will then take the July off. They return to the stage on August 9 at the Outside Lands Music and Arts Festival in San Francisco and the Squamish Valley Music Festival in British Columbia on August 10. From there, it’s on to shows in Iowa, South Dakota, Kansas and Colorado. They’ll play Albuquerque on August 30 and after a few more shows in the Southwest, move on to California, playing shows up the coast all the way to Washington, where they’ll play Seattle on September 13 and Spokane on September 14. The two will then head through the Midwest with shows in Montana, Idaho, Utah and Colorado again, specifically Aspen which they’ll play on September 20. After taking all of October off, the guys will finish the year performing at Austin’s Fun Fun Fun Fest from November 7 to 9.
Hailing from Minneapolis, Atmosphere consists of rapper Slug (Sean Daley) and producer/DJ Ant Anthony Davis). Since the two’s debut album, 1997’s Outcast, they’ve released six more albums, the last three of which cracked the top 20 on the US charts. The group is known for their intense touring schedules and entertaining live shows, which have previous featured additional touring members, live bands, and improvised performances.
