Atmosphere Prove They’re Not ‘Bitter’ with Summer Tour
Hip-hop duo Atmosphere have just put some plans to tour North America on the books for 2014. In support of their May 6 release, Southsiders, Slug (aka Sean Daley) and Ant (aka Anthony Davis) will commence their shows on May 14 in Saskatoon, SK, at O’Brian’s Event Centre, and then continue through Calgary, AB; Winnipeg, MB; Toronto, ON; Portland, ME; Clifton Park, NY; Pontiac, MI; Cleveland, OH; Milwaukee, WI; Saugerties, NY (for the Hudson Project Music and Arts Festival); and, finally, Squamish, WA, just in time for the Squamish Festival. Tickets for all Atmosphere solo shows are available now (check each individual festival for its ticketing information).
Formed in Minnesota in 1989, Atmosphere are true veterans of the underground hip-hop scene. A part of the Rhymesayers, the pair has released six studio albums and 10 EPs over the course of their decade-and-a-half history. The first record, Overcast, hit the airwaves in 1997, with the single “Scapegoat” receiving considerable attention on college radio stations. They credit most of their success with their constant touring no matter what, once having driven to Dallas from Minneapolis for a show.
