Indie folk rockers The Avett Brothers have just announced additional fall dates to their already in progress tour. They’ve added shows in Southaven, MS; Rogers, AR; and Weatherford, OK. They will also perform a two-night stint in Asheville, NC, on October 31 & November 1, plus a September 19 gig in Knoxville, TN. The guys’ next gig is a two-night stint at the Verizon Wireless Amphitheatre at Encore Park in Alpharetta, GA on July 25 and 26.
Hailing from North Carolina, the Avett Brothers combine influences from bluegrass, folk, punk, rock and more to create their own unique sound. The group, which features the eponymous siblings Seth and Scott as part of its core members, formed in 2000, but didn’t gain mainstream success until their 2007 album Emotionalism (which also brought them to attention of famed producer Rick Rubin, who’s become of their chief collaborators over the years). All their releases since have cracked the top 20 of the U.S. Billboard 200.
