UPDATE: Common Ground

The Common Ground Music Festival, an annual music festival that takes place in downtown Lansing, MI, each year is heading into its 14th year in 2013. Set to take place July 8 through July 14, the festival has added The Avett Brothers as a headlining act on the Saturday night of the festival, July 13.

Details are still pending for the majority of the lineup for the festival, but joining The Avetts as a headliner on one night is Little Big Town on Thursday, July 11.

The Avett Brothers continue to expand their 2013 touring plans in North America with an announcement of some new dates scattered throughout the months of April, May, June and July.

These new set of dates are highlighted by a a two night stand at the Red Rocks Amphitheatre on July 5 and July 6. Other shows added are as follows:
April 11 – Clemson, South Carolina – Littlejohn Coliseum
May 16 – Knoxville, TN – Knoxville Civic Coliseum
May 17 – Alpharetta, GA – Verizon Wireless Amphitheatre
May 18 – Nashville, TN – Bridgestone Arena
May 24 – Lewiston, NY – Artpark
May 25 – Columbus, OH – LC Pavilion
June 20 – Roanoke, VA – Roanoke Civic Center

The American tour The Avett Brothers are planning seems to be expanding before they head out to the United Kingdom and Europe in 2013. Added today to the already announced shows in Madison (February 9), Grand Rapids (February 10) and Ann Arbor (February 12), are three new shows: February 14 in Fort Wayne, Indiana at the Embassy Theatre; February 15 in Wheeling, West Virginia at the Capitol Theatre and February 16 in Charleston, West Virginia at the Charleston Municipal Auditorium.

Before The Avett Brothers embark on their March tour of the United Kingdom and Europe in 2013, they will play a series of dates in February here in the United States. Newly announced American tour dates are February 9 in Madison, Wisconsin at the Orpheum Theater; February 10 in Grand Rapids, Michigan at the DeltaPlex and February 12 in Ann Arbor, Michigan at Hill Auditorium.

After completing a successful tour of the United States in support of their latest album “The Carpenter,” The Avett Brothers will embark on a tour of the United Kingdom and Europe in 2013. Kicking off on March 1 in Oslo, the tour will visit Stockholm, Sweden (March 2); Malmo, Sweden (March 3); Hamburg, Germany (March 5); Berlin, Germany (March 6); Munich, Germany (March 8); Zurich, Switzerland (March 9); Koln, Germany (March 11); London (March 14); Manchester (March 16); and Dublin (March 18).

On Tuesday, North Carolina folk-rock outfit The Avett Brothers released their sixth album, The Carpenter. The band, made up of brothers Seth and Scott Avett and bassist Bob Crawford, will be touring the United States over the next few months and playing the new material, which has met general critical praise.

The Avett Brothers’ current tour will include not just concert stops, but also several festival appearances. These include the Grand Point North Festival in Burlington, the Music Midtown Festival in Atlanta, Austin City Limits, the Southern Ground Music and Food Festival in Charleston, and New Orleans’ Voodoo Music Experience.
