While tracks like “Girlfriend” and “Sk8er Boi” will never really go away as long as karaoke bars continue to exist, Avril Lavigne herself hasn’t been out in the world for quite some time. Luckily for fans, the Canadian singer has just announced her first tour in five years, supporting her February album Head Above Water.

Lavigne retreated from the spotlight for several years while battling Lyme disease and the resulting fatigue and other complications. This new tour will donate a portion of each ticket sold will benefit Avril’s foundation that supports other people who are fighting the illness.

Her Head Above Water tour starts on September 14 and runs for 15 shows before ending on October 11. Along the way, she will hit Seattle’s Paramount Theatre, Minneapolis’ State Theatre and New York City’s Pier 17, among others. The Canadian singer will play one date in her home country, stopping off at Toronto’s Sony Centre on October 6. The tour ends in Philadelphia’s XCite Center.
