UPDATE

This is even better than expected. As promised, the Backstreet Boys will indeed be heading out on a reunion tour… with a little help from fellow dreamboat popstar Jesse McCartney, and DJ superstar (of sorts) Pauly D from “The Jersey Shore.” In other words, attending one of these shows will in fact be the most fun you’ll have this August or September. Chicago is first up on the docket, where the gang will perform at Charter One Pavilion at Northerly Island on August 2. With the exception of one Canadian show in Montreal on August 6, most of the Backstreet Boys and co.’s concerts will take place throughout the southern, midwestern and western regions of the country. Tickets haven’t yet been made available, but be sure to check back here in the coming weeks as discount deals begin to crop up!

It’s been six years since the original boy-banders, The Backstreet Boys, artfully choreographed their way across the nation’s main stages. That is, six years since all five members (representing the full spectrum of male hair colors) performed in the group’s original form. This morning on Good Morning America, A.J. Mclean, Howie Dorough, Brian Littrell, Nick Carter, and the newly reinstated Kevin Richardson, announced they’ve officially reunited to record a new album. Past Backstreet Boys Ticket Prices The Boys told GMA their current recording sessions are the first since 2005 to see all original five guys in the same studio. They also revealed their Real World-style accommodations, announcing they’ve been living together in the same house, and will continue to do so for the duration of their album work. While the GMA anchors asked the pressing follow-up question (“Who’s the morning person?”), we had other issues in mind. Most notably: When’s the tour? The untitled album is scheduled for release next spring, which bodes well for a series of summer dates. Can’t wait a year? Backstreet Boys will be performing on Good Morning America August 3rd.
