Broke in NYC? You’re not alone. Check out our guide to this weekend’s cheapest concerts. All $30 and under.

Jake Bugg @ Terminal 5

Friday, January 10
Don’t let his age fool you – 20-year-old Jake Bugg has released arguably one of the best folk albums we’ve heard in a while. Shangri La, which features various musicians such as Chad Smith of the Red Hot Chili Peppers and Elvis Costello’s drummer Pete Thomas, has been nominated for Album of the Year by Mercury Prize and earned Bugg the Q Award’s Best New Act. When he’s not busy winning and being nominated for awards or making successful albums, he’s touring at places such as Terminal 5 in New York, NY. Catch him there for only $30 a ticket.

Action Bronson @ Irving Plaza

Friday, January 10
A New York native (he’s from Flushing, Queens), Action Bronson is definitely making a name for himself in the rap genre. He was nominated for BET’s Rookie of the Year in 2013 along with the likes of A$AP Ferg, Joey Bada$$ and Earl Sweatshirt. What’s he up to these days? We can definitely look forward to a major debut album being released later this year, but in the meantime, check him out at Irving Plaza for $25 where you just might hear what’s next for this up-and-coming rapper.

Rusted Root @ Gramercy Theatre

Saturday, January 11
If you are a child of the ’90s, you probably know Rusted Root, even if you think you don’t know Rusted Root. Their smash hit “Send Me on My Way” appeared in more movie montages throughout the decade than “Eye of the Tiger” in the Rocky film series. See what the Pittsburgh, PA-based band are up to now when they perform at Gramercy Theatre on Saturday.

Cherry Poppin’ Daddies @ Gramercy Theatre

Saturday, January 11
Sharing the stage with Rusted Root on Saturday are the Cherry Poppin’ Daddies. While this band has been around since my youth, only now do I fully grasp the concept of their name. #Inappropriate. Bust out your pork pie and brush up on your skanking for this show, it’s sure to be a – say it with me now – zoot suit riot.

DJ Butta @ Sutra Lounge

Sunday, January 12
DJ Butta is a self-proclaimed “future living legend,” and while we’re not sure what that means exactly, we’re happy to spend at least the present with this living legend. You can’t pass up an opportunity to hear him mix some feel-good style with some old school classics, resulting in a hot party for all to enjoy. And at $10/ticket at the door ($5 in advance)? Sounds like a steal for a future living legend. We’ll see you and DJ Butta at the Sutra Lounge.
