Banks Extends Headlining Tour into Fall
Sultry singer-songwriter Banks is all set to release her highly anticipated (and boy, do we mean highly) debut album, Goddess, on September 9, and in support of her LP, she’s elected to stay on tour. Banks has been on the road all summer long (and even before that with an opening stint for The Weeknd) and autumn will be no different. The North American portion of “The Goddess Tour” kicks off in Orlando, FL on September 20 at The Beacham, and then continues through Miami, FL; Nashville, TN; Philadelphia, PA; Boston, MA; New York, NY; Montreal, QC; Vancouver, BC; Seattle, WA; and Portland, OR; before finishing up in her hometown of Los Angeles, CA at the Wiltern on October 21. Tickets for the tour go on sale this Friday, June 20.
L.A.-based Jillian Banks’ music has been in heavy international rotation over the past year or so. 2013 was an especially great year—she was nominated for the Sound of 2014 award by the BBC (British singer Sam Smith took the top prize), and she also picked up a nomination for the MTV Brand New prize. Not to mention being featured in a national commercial for Victoria’s Secret. Not too shabby, eh? Banks has released music under Harvest Records, Good Year Recording, and Iamsound Records.
