Baroness Back on the Road With North American Summer Tour
An upcoming tour announcement is always exciting news, but for fans of Baroness, it’s particularly meaningful. Seven months ago, the band suffered a devastating bus crash while on tour in England. While there were no fatalities, bassist Matt Maggioni and drummer Allen Blickle ultimately parted ways with their band mates due to the injuries and effects of the incident. But frontman John Baizley and guitarist Pete Adams have teamed up with new band members Nick Jost (bass) and Sebastian Thomson (drums) and are hitting the road starting May 24 at Union Transfer in Philly for a North American summer tour. They will be joined at various stops by Inter Arma, True Widow and Coliseum.
In addition to a number of venues across the South and Midwest, Baroness will be performing at the Free Press Summer Festival in Houston June 2, Bonnaroo (June 13 -16, performance date TBD) and Lollapalooza on August 6. They’ll wrap things up at Heavy MTL in Montreal (August 10 – 11, performance date also TBD). Fans can expect to see material mostly from their 2012 album Yellow & Green, but the band promises to include some hits from their older releases as well, including 2007’s Red Album and 2009’s Blue Record.
