Barry Gibb Brings The Bee Gees to The Aussies
Barry Gibb has announced that he will return to Australia early next year for his “Mythology Tour.” The tour will serve as a tribute to Barry’s work with his brothers, Maurice and Robin, the three of whom make up the iconic Bee Gees band. The three-date tour starts on February 8 at the Sydney Entertainment Centre. The second date, on the 12th, takes place in Melbourne at the Rod Laver Arena. Head on over to the Brisbane Entertainment Centre on February 16 to catch the tour finale. Also traveling with Gibb on the road is his son, Stephen, who will act as a vocalist/guitarist, Maurice Gibbs’ daughter, Samantha, and Beth Cohen.
The Bee Gees have permeated American pop culture since their career began in 1958. Although they started off as a pop act, the trio transcended genres with their ’70s hit, “Stayin’ Alive,” a song which is still wildly popular to this day. Of course, the John Travolta-fueled smash single wasn’t their only hit – songs like “Jive Talkin’,” “How Deep is Your Love” and “Night Fever” propelled The Bee Gees into musical superstardom, where they still sit pretty today.
