Basement Jaxx Tour

After taking two years off from touring, the British house band Basement Jaxx will round out the year with a UK tour. The band, which rose to fame in the early-aughts, is famous for club banging, head bopping, can’t-get-this-song-out-of-my-head hits such as “Where’s Your Head At?” and “Romeo.” In the mid-90s, Felix Buxton and Simon Ratcliffe, the group’s sole members, formed Basement Jaxx in Brixton, where they got their start in the London underground house music scene.

While the band’s first appearance will be as headliners of this year’s Kendal Calling, the late 2013 tour will then make five additional stops across the UK. While the chances of seeing the band are few, the shows promise to be thrilling. If the band’s recently released single “Back 2 The Wild” is any indication, fans are in for a treat. The group will kick things off on November 28 at O2 Academy Leeds followed by a show the next day at O2 Apollo Manchester. The beginning of December will see the band with shows in Newcastle at O2 Academy Newcastle on December 1, O2 Academy Birmingham on December 5 with a final show on December 6 at O2 Academy Brixton.
